Biodata:
Thubten Chodron graduated from the University of California LA in 1971. In 1975, she attended a meditation course by Lama Yeshe and Lama Zopa, and later continued her study under them. In 1977 she received her novice ordination and in 1986 her bhikshuni (full) ordination in Taiwan. Her teachers include His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Tsenzhap Serkong Rinpoche. She was resident teacher at Amitabha Buddhist Center in Singapore, and later at the Dharma Friendship Foundation where she is the Spiritual Advisor. She recently founded Sravasti Abbey as a monastery for Westerners training in the Tibetan Buddhist Tradition.

Ven Chodron travels worldwide to teach the Dharma, and has written many books
